I was born to two loving immigrant parents that knew practically nothing about technology and the modern world. While growing up, I was enamored by the technological feats achieved and I desperately wanted to be part of it. I joined an articulation program with Brooklyn College where I would complete all the technical aspects of Engineering there and proceed in pursuing a B.S. in Computer Engineering at NYU. At NYU, I was exposed to many more courses and to the more hardware aspect of computers. I didn’t realize my true potential until I took an Embedded Systems course in my senior year. We were tasked to create a device that would help the visually disabled navigate without the need for a walking stick, but rather just a few sensors. Unlike the rest of my classes, I wasn’t creating a game or a program, I was creating a life-changing device and actually helping people. I took it as my obligation to work somewhere that would make a change in the world we live in more than just creating a simple program or game. Only now have I realized my full potential and accepted an offer at Northrop Grumman as an Embedded Software Engineer, a place where I can make change and help develop weapons for the United States Military.
